My trip to Bangalore......contd

The next day i had a very important meeting for which i was accompanied by our R&D expert. We were travelling in our company vehicle and passed through some really good location in Bangalore, one of them being the Whitefield road. I was surprised by the way the place is being developed. It really made me feel why is Bangalore called the IT city.
You would only find IT/Software companies huge campuses on these roads. I got a chance to visit one of the upcoming IT Parks which was still under construction. It was a 2 basement 8 floors massive structure. I moved around the entire stretch of the building, floor to floor.
I got the oppurtunity to witness the making of a NOC. OMG excellent planning, huge length of CAT 5 cables/Patch cords running the entire floor, cooling systems, power systems and monitoring systems.
It was a mind blowing experience. I had worked at one of the NOC's of BSNL some time back but had never imagined would be able to see the making of the NOC. Was an exciting experience i say....
The next day again i had met one of the construction biggies of Banglore, what massive construction sites....mall, commercial, residency, playground all in one location. Wow!!!! Bangalore is coming up big time. But please some one fix up the degrading autorickshaw system. Otherwise it is a lovely city to make a living and to stay. Also, one more condition you must know Telugu or Kannada or Tamil. But i am sure in the coming years people in Bangalore will also speak the same language as the entire India speaks Hindi or English :-)

My trip to Bangalore....Day 1

As part of my first business visit thorugh my compnay i had been to Bangalore, the so called IT city. The city is beautiful, the roads are good but narrow leading to traffic jams but something i hate in Bangalore is people.
My journey to Bangalore started on the saturday at 7 pm in a Volvo 2x2 bus from Sion, Mumbai. (:-( Was unable to get flight tickets due to the sudden plan). Ok. the journey in the bus was 17 hours and i thought i would be drained till i reach my destination in Bangalore. But to my surprise it was a very comfortable ride, the bus was VOLVO and the ride was amazing. The Air conditioning was top class and with the added entertainment of the Television. I watched three latest realises of Bollywood, Runway (:-(), Luck (:-)) and Team - The force (:-(). Was a good time pass. The person next to me was busy in some erotic magazine.....
So as the night fell everyone fell to sleep only to get up in Hubli which came at around 5 30 in the morning. It stopped there for a while and later again picked up speed.
We reached the outskirts of Bangalore at aroung 12 30 and i was there at the busstop at 1 30 pm the exact time of arrival. Hats off to the punctuality of the Travel agency.
No sooner i reached Kalasipalayam, i was the victim of the rickshaw driver. Charging me a whopping 120 Rs. for a ride which hardly took 40 min. The irony here is that even though they have a meter they never use one, why? because it comsumes battery, how stupid......
Later i realized that if i would have taken an auto with a meter, i would have been charged Rs. 80/- nevertheless i learnt the lesson there. More about the trip in the next post....
